ALEJANDRO BLASCO (ODPE): “THERE ARE MORE AND MORE CLOUD IMPLEMENTATIOS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT.”
WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THE ROLE THE WORK IN THE CLOUD PLAYS, WE TALK ABOUT IT IN PRESENT TENSE, NOT AS A FUTURE. THIS WAS THE MAIN REASON OF THE WORKSHOP “PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND THE CLOUD” ORGANIZED BY ISACA VALENCIA AND THE PMI (PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE) VALENCIA CHAPTER. IT TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY, 23RD JUNE in the conference hall of the Palacio de Colomina in the CEU OF VALENCIA. THE OBJECTIVE OF the EVENT WAS TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE IS CLOUD AND WHICH IS THE BEST WAY TO MANAGE IT, ALSO IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
The importance of the cloud in relation with Project Management was the topic in which Alejandro Blasco, Business Consultancy Manager of Odpe, based his intervention in the event organized by the PMI Valencia Chapter and Isaca Valencia in the Palacio de Colomina in the CEU of Valencia. On the basis of CA PPM (before Clarity) tool, software reference in PPM, Blasco analysed all the allowances and the benefits it offers to the business to manage its resources on SaaS. From a better management of its resources to a full utilization of the capacities of the company to improve faster, going through the optimization of its inversions. In fact, “in recent times, on demand version is overcoming on premise version in terms of number of implementations”, explained Blasco, and he recognised that “at slower pace in Spain than in the rest of the world.”
Apart from the OdPe intervention, Mariano J. Benito, Security Director/CISO of GMV talked about “XaaS Projects. Security errors to avoid”; Anna Melchor, Smart City technician in InnDEA explained the details of the project Plataforma Valencia Ciudad Inteligente (Plataforma VLC; and, José Lluís Poza, from the COIICV, talks about the documental integrity of the computer engineering projects.
The meeting was open by Miguel Femenia Cholbi (President of the PMI Valencia), Francisco Marques (President of the Official Association of Computer Engineers in the Valencian Community – COGITCV) and Roberto Soriano (President of the Association Security Audit and IT Government – ISACA).
